"Yes! I will go wait for you! And then we can play with the ball!"
His voice fades as he gallops through the hallway and pummels through the doggy door flap. Well, until he gets caught on his fat hips and yelps.
"I am okay!" he says in the distance, as the flap closes behind him when he gets through all right and picks up the ball again. He's visibly vibrating as he waits by the door for Roxy excitedly.
Well, now she just has to laugh a little louder. Even if she can't see Dug, she already knows that he gets stuck in the doggy door and needs a little more wiggling to get out. Pushing herself off the bed with some effort, she wraps her hands around each other as she stretches her arms over her head, bending backwards to warm up her muscles.
"Alright! I'm glad you're okay," she yawns, bending down to tug on her boots, tucking her jeans carefully before she zips off the buttery brown leather.
Roxy then sings, "I'm coming!" as she picks up the pace, more awake now as she rushes to the door.
Dug started pacing with the tennis ball tucked between his teeth, his tail nearly able to scatter the leaves on the porch with the force of its movement. He keeps stopping to sniff and listen, resuming the thump-thump of his paws on the wood, his nails making little clacking noises as he resumed pacing when he heard nothing.
He was on his fourth pause when he was rewarded. "Oh boy!" he said with pricked ears upon hearing her footsteps approaching, sitting down again to look patient (he's not) and obedient (he's mostly) to be a good boy. He always wants to be a good boy.
